Hard to believe 2011 is on its way out...

...but it's true! 2011 has been a busy year for FBB, and it's getting busier. We have 3 commissioned instruments, 1 inventoried instrument prepping for departure (117), more with prospective homes (140, 146, 149), and people waiting in the wings for custom instruments. All of this is conspiring to prevent the Tres Amigos project from getting off the ground, as well as my sorely-needed web page overhaul. I guess it's going to be a busy 2012, too.

2011 Batch B Is Go

FBB now has a guitar (151) in the works as well as a long awaited kickoff to the Tres Amigos Project. These three friends will be a trio of identically appointed basses, made from different woods, to try and get a handle on the extent to which wood shapes the tone of a solidbody bass. The plan: a double blind listening study conducted over the internet! Please contact me if you'd like to contribute in some way -- donations of web programming skills would be very welcome. A couple of new things to note around here for March... First, I have added a few basses to the inventory section. They are 104 and 132. Please check them out and feel to inquire about these basses. They are not quite done, but could be prioritized if anyone is interested in acquiring them.

Second, I have begun including detailed estimates for all inventory and near-inventoried basses. This will give you a more detailed breakdown of the details of any instrument you might be interested in. From time to time I will put a bass on special; the special price may not be reflected in the detailed estimate, but as always, if there is any confusion please do contact me for clarification.

#130 and #140 have just been moved onto the inventory page. They are available for purchase, more or less immediately. The fretwork on #130 has been completed by a Plek-human hybrid and is impeccable. #140 weighs in at 7.25lbs and is extremely comfortable.

Please think of #113 and #122 if you are interested in a 5 string fretless. I am very excited about these basses but I need a buyer to be able to devote significant time to rehabilitating them. Please inquire for pricing!
